Why can’t I sleep?

Trying to escape these dreams

Wait till the morning light

Face this reality

Open my eyes

The sun shears a hole through the sky

The demons they don’t go to bed

They all rest peacefully in my head

We are the broken ones

We are the silence in the sound

Put on a smiling face

Nobody wants to hear the pain

Wake to a repeated scene

Life is just one daydream

They said I would be promising

But why can’t I do a goddamn thing?

I looked for the eternal cure

But maybe I think I’m not so sure

This story I didn’t choose to write

It’s been with me all of my whole life
